My name is Rylee Wilton. I graduated from Full Sail University, located in Winter Park, Florida. To tell you I have a passion for filmmaking would be an understatement. Creating and telling stories from a cinematic perspective doesn't just make me happy, it motivates and fulfills me. I have a craving for telling others' stories that can not be satisfied in any other way.

 

I attended Hempfield High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Throughout my high school career, I got the opportunity to be a part of many great projects. I spent two years being a part of a group that set out to make a thirty minute news show every month, called Hempfield Happenings, that aired on a local cable network called Comcast 66. In 2021, this show won the High School Video Production Award for Newscast. It taught me that everyone has a story waiting to be found, and I got the honor to give them a voice they otherwise didn't have. High school also brought me to the Student Television Network convention. We were a part of various competitions, giving me a taste of what it is like to be a part of a large community united under one creative goal. 

 

Full Sail University provided a unique hands-on experience, allowing students to get familiar with industry standard equipment as early as their first day on campus. However, it wasn’t  just a technical learning opportunity. I got the opportunity to step into leadership oriented roles and manage larger loads of responsibility. I learned what it truly meant to work as a team, realizing we are all striving for the same goal. I was introduced to the different positions on a crew and learned just how extensive the filmmaking process is. I found myself being constantly drawn towards the camera team or Director of Photography. My time in university challenged and strengthened my creative muscles and has left me wanting more.

 

The few short years of experience I've had so far has taught me much more than I could have ever imagined. As long as I can continue to make films and tell impactful stories. I am exhilarated to see what my future will teach me and where I will be taken next.
